About Us
The Brampton Board of Trade (BBOT) is the leading voice for Bramptonās business community. We support local organizations through advocacy, events, networking, and programming thatĀ drivesĀ economic growth and community prosperity.
We are seeking a motivated Marketing & Communications Intern to support our brand presence across digital channels andĀ assistĀ with event promotion and communications activities.
Position Overview
The Marketing & Communications Intern will play a hands-on role in creating and sharing content across our digital platforms. This position is ideal for a creative, organized individual eager to gain practical experience in social media management, graphic design, video production, and event marketing.
You will collaborate closely with the Marketing & Events teams to help increase awareness of BBOT programs, services, and events.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Digital Content
- Support content development for BBOT social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X)
- Create branded graphics and promotional assets using Canva
- Draft and schedule posts to promote events, programs, advocacy initiatives, and member stories
- Monitor engagement andĀ assistĀ in community interactions
Event Marketing & Administration
- Support event promotion through social posts, e-blasts, and online listings
- AssistĀ in gathering marketing collateral (logos, speaker bios, photos) for events and promotional use
- Help prepare digital and printed materials for event day (agendas, slides, signage, etc.)
- AssistĀ with onsite event video capture, setup, and content posting
Video Production & Editing
- Capture event footage, interviews, andĀ short-formĀ clips for social platforms
- Edit video content for reels, recaps, and promotional storytelling
- Organize and catalogue raw video and media files for future use
Other Duties
- AssistĀ with website updates related to events and news
- HelpĀ maintainĀ marketing calendars and asset folders
- Support administrative tasks related to communications and events, as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, Film, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Experience using Canva or similar design tools
- Basic video filming and editing skills (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar)
- ProficiencyĀ with social media platforms
- Strong attention to detail and time-management abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Experience with newsletter platforms (e.g., Mailchimp)
- Photography and/or videography experience
- Familiarity with CRM or event management platforms
- Interest in business, community involvement, and event production
