About the Role
We are looking for a Marketing Coordinator Intern who is passionate about amplifying stories and putting Southwestern Ontarioβs innovators, entrepreneurs and industry on the map.

Purpose-Driven Content
We don't sacrifice quality for quantity. Our editorial calendar is made up of educational, timely and relevant pieces that directly benefit founders, innovators and industry leaders. We take pride in what we put out in the world.
- Produce wraparound content to complement visual design elements, including social media, website, and email marketing copy that supports the editorial calendar and news releases.
- Support community engagement over social media, developing and maintaining relationships with key individuals and organizations, supporting lead generation for Venture Growth services.
Project Planning & Experiences
We pride ourselves on hosting unique and valuable experiences, therefore they need to be thoughtful and high quality. Do you have bold ideas? We want to hear them!
- Plan and execute experiences, including researching topics and speakers, creating online registration pages (Eventbrite), liaising with partners and sponsors, and corresponding with the target audience (including but not limited to: Techstars Startup Weekend, Summer Shaker, Tech Meetups, Masterclasses, and Pitch Room).
- Support in managing and updating audience list for MailChimp, keeping contacts up to date, tagging contacts correctly, and segmenting the list.
- Support in experience execution, including event setup and tear down, guest check-in, and photography and videography throughout the event.
- Create and update workflows in the project management tool and campaigns in our CRM (HubSpot). Not sure how to use HubSpot? Donβt sweat it! We can provide you with the training.
Technical Chops
Tell us: What are your superpowers? Where can we find examples of them in action? Whether you can curate a killer Instagram feed or dabble in freelance graphic design, be sure to let us know.
- Social listening: Explore and act on emerging trends, technologies and creative mediums, including but not limited to: Instagram Live, podcasting, X chats.
- Research, plan, and execute graphical, animated video, and/or audio materials to support planned editorial work and live experiences using social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn.
What You Need to Succeed
- Undergraduate degree (or enrolled), specialization in Marketing or Communications.
- Must have excellent writing/creative writing and editing skills.
- Superior oral and written communications skills including active listening.
- Acute understanding of social media platforms from content, audience, and technical perspective.
- Highly self-motivated, innovative thinker with a creative flair and passion.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with excellent planning and time management while working independently and with ambiguity.
- Dedicated team player who can contribute to a vibrant team culture and core values, while prioritizing multiple and changing demands.
- Proficient with Google Analytics and Ads, MailChimp, CSS, Adobe Creative Cloud, Slack, MS Office 365, and Eventbrite.
- Active participant on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Experience with WordPress, graphic design, animation, video editing software tools, or coding (not a deal breaker but it would be nice!).
- This is an in-officeβfirst role to support collaboration with the team and community, with the option for remote work when needed.
Please note this is an Internship role (8 weeks, 40 hours per week) and funding is provided by Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible for Canada Summer Jobs, the candidate must be between 18-30 and eligible to work in Canada.
