Full Description

Software Engineering Intern โ€” Full-Stack / AI Product

Olivia ยท [Remote / Hybrid โ€“ Toronto, ON] ยท $20/hr CAD ยท Summer co-op (intern-to-hire potential)

ABOUT OLIVIA

Olivia is the world's first generative design AI agent โ€” she designs product photos, ads, newsletters, and social posts for fast-growing DTC brands through natural conversation. We're a small, fast-moving team building at the frontier of applied generative AI, and 100+ brands are already designing with us. As our engineering intern, you'll ship real features that customers use from week one โ€” no busywork.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

Working directly with the founding engineers across our full stack:

โ€ข Full-stack features in a modern TypeScript codebase โ€” React front end, Node back end, Prisma/Postgres.

โ€ข AI agent and image-generation pipelines โ€” integrating Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), GPT and other models; wiring up tools, prompts, and generation workflows.

โ€ข Our real-time, WebGL-based design canvas and the systems that deliver generated images to it.

โ€ข Whatever's most important that week โ€” early-stage means you'll own meaningful pieces fast.

WE BUILD WITH AI AGENTS โ€” AND YOU SHOULD TOO

This is core, not a nice-to-have. Our team ships every day with AI coding agents, and we expect you to be fluent driving them:

โ€ข Hands-on experience with Claude Code and/or Codex (or comparable agentic tools like Cursor) โ€” you know how to plan, prompt, review, and ship real code with an AI agent, not just autocomplete.

โ€ข You can break a task down, delegate the right parts to an agent, and critically review what it produces instead of blindly accepting it.

โ€ข You're excited to work in a codebase and workflow built around human + AI-agent collaboration.

YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU

โ€ข Are in your final year of a CS/software program, a recent grad, or looking for a co-op term.

โ€ข Are comfortable in JavaScript/TypeScript and have built something full-stack โ€” school projects, hackathons, side projects, and past internships all count.

โ€ข Have shipped or hacked on something with an AI/LLM API, or are hungry to learn fast.

โ€ข Write clean, readable code and can work through ambiguity without a spec handed to you.

โ€ข Care about the product and the user, not just the ticket.

BONUS POINTS

โ€ข React + Node in production or a serious side project.

โ€ข Experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, image generation, or agent frameworks.

โ€ข Familiarity with Prisma, Postgres, or full-stack frameworks (we use Wasp โ€” you don't need it going in, but learn fast).

โ€ข A public GitHub or portfolio of things you've actually built and shipped.

DETAILS

โ€ข Pay: $20/hr CAD

โ€ข Term: Flexible โ€” full-time summer co-op; strong performers have intern-to-hire potential.

โ€ข Location: Remote

โ€ข Start: ASAP / rolling
