Student Assistant – Human Resources Clerk (NOC 14102)

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Student Assistant - Human Resources (HR) Clerk is responsible for completing a range of clerical tasks to assist with upholding department operations. This may include, but is not limited to data entry, scanning, filing, and shredding documents, preparation of excel reports and data review for quality. They will also assist with the implementation of projects as required, including assisting with coordination of Agency events. The HR Clerk will assist with complying, maintaining, and processing information relating to staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data entry, scanning, filing, shredding documents
  • Preparation of documents
  • Process, verify, and register documentation relating to personnel activities
  • Maintain and update manual and computerized filing and registration systems and compile and prepare reports and documents relating to personnel activities

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Previous administrative and clerical experience, is preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with using Microsoft word and excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience assisting with event planning and participation is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, with a willingness to contribute and lead in the culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events for clients and their families/caregivers, colleagues, other community members and yourself.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with highly confidential information and situations.

Education – High School Diploma

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program or Bachelors or Diploma in a relevant discipline
  • Education and training in Human Resources, Personnel Administration or related courses, is preferred

Successful applicants will be required to provide:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
  • A valid class G Ontario driver’s licence and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on Agency vehicle insurance policy
  • Clear Police Record Check

Preference will be given to bilingual (French/English) candidates
