Position: Gallery Associate

Location: Art Interiors, 446 Spadina Road

Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Compensation: Commensurate with Experience

Start Date: Immediate Part-Time with opportunity for Full-Time starting June/July 2026

Job Summary

The Gallery Associate plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of Art Interiors. This position combines creative, administrative, and sales responsibilities. The ideal candidate is passionate about visual art, thrives in a customer-facing role, and has strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the gallery, ensuring a clean, organized, and inviting environment
  • Manage artist relationships and inventory, including cataloging and maintaining accurate records
  • Handle artwork sales and client relations, providing exceptional service to visitors and buyers
  • Coordinate gallery events, openings, and community engagement initiatives
  • Manage gallery website updates and maintain social media presence
  • Supervise interns and delegate tasks as necessary

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of artwork mediums, ability to discuss and reference artwork specifications
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills - previous experience in retail is preferred
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in digital tools such as Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends for events
