Interns gain hands-on experience across acquisitions, underwriting, and private lending activities while contributing meaningfully to live transactions.

The Role

We are looking for a Junior Analyst - Real Estate Acquisitions & Underwriting, based in Edmonton, AB. The intern will support the acquisitions team by assisting in the underwriting and evaluation of real estate investment opportunities.

Day-to-day tasks include

  • Collecting and analyzing market data
  • Reviewing rent rolls and operating statements
  • Supporting preliminary and detailed due diligence on potential properties.
  • Assisting with real estate appraisals
  • Comparable analyses
  • Site/market assessments to help evaluate asset quality and risk
  • Collaborate with team members across finance, acquisitions, and asset management, contributing to internal reporting and maintaining organized deal files.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and market data, build structured analyses, and communicate insights clearly.
  • Foundational knowledge of finance and investments, including cash flow modeling, basic valuation concepts, and risk-return principles.
  • Strong interest in commercial real estate, private equity, or private lending.
  • Attention to detail and a disciplined approach to due diligence, documentation, and data integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (or similar tools) for financial modeling and presentation preparation.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Finance, Real Estate, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site team environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity about real estate investing, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Compensation: $15/hour

Contract: This is a summer internship with possibility of becoming a permanent position
