Full Description
We are looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join a public sector organization on a long-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career BA who has hands-on IT business analysis experience and is looking to grow within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
- Work closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business needs.
- Develop business requirements, use cases, process flows, and supporting documentation.
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
- Support the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from requirements through implementation.
- Create business cases, traceability matrices, and performance measures.
- Assist in business process analysis, process mapping, and business improvement initiatives.
- Prepare presentations, briefing notes, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams using Agile and traditional project methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of IT Business Analysis experience (Business Analyst experience only – QA or Project Lead experience will not be considered)
- Experience working throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements
- Experience with structured, object-oriented, and Agile methodologies for requirements gathering
- Experience developing performance measures and business analysis evaluation metrics
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Nice to Have
- Public sector experience
- Experience with business process mapping, business modeling, and use case modeling
- Experience preparing business cases and cost-benefit analyses
- Familiarity with CASE tools
- Knowledge of AODA accessibility standards
