Junior Buyer

About the Opportunity

• Create and process purchase orders for materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
• Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, deliveries, and shipment status; expedite orders as needed.
• Maintain purchasing records, pricing, supplier data, and receiving documentation within the ERP system.
• Review requisitions for accuracy and support inventory replenishment to prevent shortages and overstock.
• Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers to ensure timely procurement and information flow.
• Reconcile purchase orders and invoices, resolving discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, and terms.
• Source and manage suppliers for materials, services, contracts, and capital equipment.
• Resolve supplier-related issues and support quotation reviews, pricing analysis, and supplier evaluations.
• Procure operational materials and services to support business needs.
• Support urgent purchasing requests, monitor inventory levels, and assist with stock management.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, service, and delivery expectations are met.
• Participate in supplier performance tracking and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure procurement activities and documentation comply with company policies and procedures.
• Provide backup support to the Senior Buyer during absences and peak workload periods.

About You

• 1+ year of experience in a buyer/purchasing/procurement role
• Post secondary in procurement, business administration, supply chain or related
• Experience within the Steel manufacturing industry is a strong asset
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, specifically MS Excel
• Must have strong attention to detail

Salary Range

$60,000 - $68,000/year
