About the Role

Sixth Summit Development Inc. is an AI-native software agency. We build AI-powered products for our clients, and we use AI throughout our own engineering workflow — from code generation and review to testing and delivery. We're looking for a Junior Software Engineer who's excited to work this way: shipping real software for clients while leveraging modern AI tooling to move faster and build better.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers on real client engagements, with significant mentorship and rapid growth potential. This is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to grow quickly at the frontier of how software actually gets built today.

This is a remote role open to candidates located in Canada.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain features across our TypeScript/Node.js backend and Angular frontend
• Develop AI-powered features and integrations as part of client products
• Work fluently with AI coding tools as part of your daily workflow
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in AI-assisted code reviews
• Work with PostgreSQL for data modeling and persistence
• Contribute to client projects under the guidance of senior engineers
• Collaborate with the team on delivery timelines and technical decisions
• Participate in our team culture practices (async check-ins, knowledge sharing)

What We're Looking For

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and based in Canada
• 0–2 years of professional software development experience (internships, co-ops, and strong personal projects count)
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language; familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript is a plus
• Foundational understanding of web application architecture (APIs, databases, frontend/backend separation)
• Genuine curiosity about AI and a desire to build with and alongside it
• Eagerness to learn, accept feedback, and self-correct
• Clear written and verbal communication
• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) or building with LLMs and APIs
• Experience with Angular, Node.js, or PostgreSQL
• Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD
• Comfort working in a client-facing or consulting environment
