About the Role

Are you a natural brainstormer who loves shaping raw ideas into compelling campaigns? We are looking for an entrepreneurial Marketing & Communications Coordinator to drive our creative projects. In this PAID STUDENT INTERNSHIP, you will mix design skills, digital analysis, and executive administration to co-create new service offerings and grow our referral network.

This position is proudly subsidized through the Venture for Canada Internship program. You will work directly with leadership, gaining true entrepreneurial experience and an alternative to traditional, rigid corporate placements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Innovation & Brainstorming: Partner directly with the CEO to conceptualize and develop innovative service packages for the public.
  • Strategic Targeting: Design marketing and outreach strategies to attract and engage specific target audiences.
  • Partnership Leveraging: Analyze and activate existing professional partnerships to organically grow our referral base.
  • KPI Development & Tracking: Establish creative and operational innovation KPIs, monitoring, reporting, and modifying them monthly based on progress.
  • Content & Social Media Creation: Use Canva and similar digital tools to design high-quality graphics, video assets, and copy for various social media platforms.
  • Digital Performance Analysis: Run web and social analytics to measure campaign reach, optimizing content based on data-driven insights.

Venture for Canada Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this federally subsidized internship program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Student Status: Currently enrolled full-time or part-time at an eligible Canadian college or university in any discipline (diploma, degree, or certificate level).
  • Enrollment Window: Must remain enrolled in your post-secondary program for at least the first 30 days of this internship.
  • Legal Status: Must hold Canadian citizenship, Permanent Residency, or protected refugee status. Please note: International students are not eligible for this funding.
  • Conflict of Interest: Must be at arm's length from the employer (no familial relationship with company ownership or executives).
  • Mindset: Demonstrates a keen interest in entrepreneurship and is actively seeking alternatives to traditional job placements.

Qualifications

  • Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the Calgary and Edmonton markets is highly preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Canva and similar digital marketing/design tools.
  • Marketing Experience: Proven experience in social media marketing and running digital campaigns.
  • Analytical Skills: Experience with website analysis tools and tracking social/web performance data.
  • Administrative Background: Solid administrative experience with strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think creatively, innovate, and develop new product/service concepts.
  • Working Style: Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
