The Corporation of the City of North Bay (“the City”) is accepting applications for the position of Web Content Specialist (Communications) Intern. Reporting to the Communications Officer, the Intern will support the transition and redevelopment of the organization’s website. This role focuses on rebuilding, restructuring, and migrating web content into a new content management system (CMS), while remaining adaptable to various platforms and technologies.

The intern will assist in improving content quality, usability, and accessibility, while contributing to a large-scale website transformation project. This role is not tied to a specific platform and requires the ability to quickly learn and adapt to a variety of digital tools and systems.

Note: This position is conditional on federal funding being approved. Candidate Criteria

  • Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field.
  • Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate.
  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Diploma (e.g., Communications, Marketing, IT or related diploma).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of web content principles.
  • Familiarity with digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
